Featured Speaker - Dev Strischek

SVP and Senior Credit Policy Officer, SunTrust Banks, Inc.

As senior credit policy officer, Dev is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering credit policies for SunTrust’s wholesale lines of business - commercial, commercial real estate, corporate investment banking, and private wealth management client services. He also spent three years as credit administrator and managing director of credit risk management in SunTrust’s Florida commercial lending and corporate investment banking areas, respectively. Prior to SunTrust, Dev was chief credit officer for Barnett Bank’s Palm Beach market. Besides stints at other banks in Florida, Kansas City, and Ohio, Dev’s experiences outside of banking include CFO of a Honolulu construction company, combat engineer officer in the U.S. Army, and college economics lecturer in Hawaii, Missouri, and Florida. A graduate of Ohio State University and the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking, he earned his M.B.A. from the University of Hawaii.

Dev has written about credit risk management, financial analysis and related subjects for the Risk Management Association’s (RMA) Journal as well as other professional journals, and he is the author of Analyzing Construction Contractors and its related RMA workshop. A past national president of RMA, Dev serves on the RMA Journal’s advisory board, and he also represents RMA on the AICPA's Blue Ribbon Panel currently engaged in making recommendations on accounting principles for closely held businesses in the USA. Dev also serves as both an instructor and as a member of the American Bankers Association's Commercial Lending and Graduate Banking School advisory board. His conference, workshop, and school audiences have included participants drawn from RMA, the American Banking Association (ABA), OCC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, FFIEC, the SBA the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the AICPA. Subjects taught include enterprise risk management, credit risk management, risk assessment and rating, problem loan management, financial analysis, cash flow projections, industry and management evaluation, commercial loan and commercial real estate underwriting, construction contractor analysis, personal financial statement and tax return analysis.
