Mike O’Donnell,
Executive Director
Colorado Lending Source
Mike is the executive director of Colorado Lending Source (CLS), the most active SBA 504 lender in Colorado and one of the top fifteen most active 504 lenders in the nation. Mike holds an undergraduate business degree (economics and commercial law) from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management. After many years of operating the Small Business Development Center and teaching a Small Business Institute course at the University of Kansas, in 1996 Mike was invited to operate a one-person, two-county CDC in northeastern Kansas.
In 2000, the opportunity arose to relocate his family to colorful Colorado and join Colorado Lending Source (CLS) as the third employee. Colorado Lending Source began increasing its loan volume in 2001, and the number of employees began to increase correspondingly. CLS is now active across the entire state of Colorado and has a staff of 25. In addition to a downtown Denver location, Colorado Lending Source opened an office in Glenwood Springs to better serve western Colorado. In a typical year, CLS works with over 60 different partner bank lenders and more than 100 different bank loan officers to facilitate better access by small business owners to the SBA 504 loan program.
