Cliff Brewis is responsible for the newsgathering operation of McGraw-Hill Construction/Dodge for the western half of the United States. He works in San Leandro, CA, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has over 25 years experience in construction with McGraw-Hill, a building product manufacturer and a subcontractor.

Cliff is a graduate in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has an MBA from American University in Washington D.C.

Dorothy Gaiter & John Brecher

Dorothy J. Gaiter has been a reporter, editor, and columnist at the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the Miami Herald. John Brecher was page one editor of the Wall Street Journal from 1992 to 2000.

They currently write the weekly "Tastings" column for the Wall Street Journal and are the authors of Love by the Glass: Tasting Notes from a Marriage. They live in New York City with their two daughters, Media and Zoe.

Donna D. Fraiche

Donna D. Fraiche is a shareholder in the New Orleans office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz and a member of the Health Law and Public Policy departments. Ms. Fraiche served as the first female President of the organization now known as the American Health Lawyers Association and is currently a Fellow of the Association. She concentrates her practice in the general representation of healthcare organizations, companies and individuals in major regulatory, public policy and litigation efforts. She chairs the Louisiana Health Care Commission, serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Loyola University and delivered the commencement address at the Law School graduation in 2001. She served as President and Chair of the Board of the World Trade Center, founded the New Orleans Regional Medical Center, and is a diplomate of the American College of Health Care Executives.

Ms. Fraiche is on the adjunct faculty of Tulane University's School of Public Health and Administration and served as a preceptor for the residency program in health systems management. She is a member of the Committee to Evaluate Requests for the Creation of Appellate Judgeships and the Judicial Campaign Oversight Committee by appointment of the Louisiana Supreme Court. She has been invited by the Council for a Better Louisiana to participate in its Leadership Louisiana 2005 program. She has served as a delegate to the Conference, "Governing in the Global Age" at George Washington University, The Elliot School of International Affairs. She is Vice-President of the Louisiana Bar Foundation.

Kirk Ingebretsen

Kirk Ingebretsen has been practicing complex commercial litigation since his admission to the Bar in 1981. He has represented financial institutions and the FDIC in a variety of contexts. He also has extensive arbitration experience, including arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association and the National Association of Securities Dealers. Unlike traditional litigators, Mr. Ingebretsen also has extensive transactional real estate experience, including review and redrafts of residential construction loan documentation. Kirk has served as Co-Chair of the Commercial and Business Litigation Committee in the ABA Litigation Section, Co-Chair of the ABA Section of Litigation Annual Meeting, and currently as Co-Chair of the Section's Pretrial and Discovery Committee. As an Adjunct Professor at the University of Colorado School of Law, he taught "Business Transactions" for five years, a course designed to teach practical business and litigation skills to third-year law students. Kirk received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1977, graduating with distinction, and he received his law degree from the University of Colorado, graduating in 1981 Order of the Coif.

Stephen S. Kim

Stephen S. Kim is a Managing Director covering the Homebuilders and Building Products sector, which he has followed for nearly fourteen years. Stephen joined Salomon Smith Barney in February 2000 from Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, where he had been since 1997. Prior to that, he was an analyst for three years at Smith Barney, and covered the Homebuilding, Appliances, and Specialty Retail - Softlines sectors before the merger with Salomon Brothers. Stephen also spent three years at Kidder, Peabody, as a junior analyst following homebuilding companies.

Stephen has been named to Institutional Investor's All-America Research Team every year since 2001. In 2004, he was named the #1 Stock Picker by Forbes magazine, out of 3000 analysts across all industries, and also ranked in the top ten for Earnings Estimator Accuracy. Forbes Magazine named him among the top Ten Stock Pickers in Household Durables in 2005. In 2005 Stephen also was rated the #1 analyst in the Home Construction category by the Wall Street Journal's 2005 Analyst Survey. Stephen graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. He lives with his wife and three sons in Briarcliff Manor, New York.

Richard W. Nirk

Richard W. Nirk resides in Denver, Colorado and has over 20 years of commercial, construction and mortgage lending experience. He has been employed by such firms as CitiGroup, American Express, Citizens National Banking Group and for many years was the National Construction Product Manager for Chase Manhattan Bank - Chase Home Finance. Currently he is the Executive Director for the National Association of Residential Construction Lenders (NARCL) and is a National Construction Lending Advisor for the Excell Management Group, Ltd. His area of focus is policy design, marketing, operations and risk management for lenders, accounting firms, insurance companies, builders and other construction trade affiliates.

Gale Norton

Gale Norton, a lifelong conservationist, public servant and advocate for bringing common sense solutions to environmental policy, was sworn in as the 48th Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior in January 2001. The first woman to head the 156-year-old department, Norton has made what she calls the Four C's the cornerstone of her tenure: Communication, Consultation, and Cooperation, all in the service of Conservation. At the heart of the Four C's is the belief that for conservation to be successful, the government must involve the people who live and work on the land.

To implement the Four C's approach, Norton has reached out to states, tribes, local communities, businesses, conservation organizations, and private citizens in a variety of ways, including: New Landowner Incentive and Private Stewardship Grant programs, providing cost-share grants to states and landowners for wildlife conservation; The Cooperative Conservation Initiative, a proposal for cost-share grants to empower states and local landowners to engage in conservation projects on public and private lands; strong support of the bipartisan plan to restore the Florida Everglades; reduction of long-standing maintenance backlogs on the National Park Service and the National Wildlife Refuge System, including a proposed record budget increase for the refuge system; support for environmentally sensitive energy production on public lands, including renewable sources such as geothermal, wind, biomass and solar.

Norton has made building cooperation and consensus the focus of her nearly 27-year career. From 1991 to 1999, she served as Attorney General of Colorado. In that capacity, she represented virtually every agency of the Colorado state government. She argued cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and other appellate courts and testified numerous times before congressional committees. As a negotiator of the $206 billion national tobacco settlement, Norton represented Colorado and 45 other states as part of the largest lawsuit settlement in history.

Prior to her election as Attorney General, Norton served in Washington, D.C. as Associate Solicitor of the U.S. Department of the Interior, overseeing endangered species and public lands legal issues for the National Park Service and the Fish and Wildlife Service. She also worked as Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Agriculture and, from 1979 to 1983, as a Senior Attorney for the Mountain States Legal Foundation.

Norton graduated magna cum laude from the University of Denver in 1975 and earned her law degree with honors from the same university in 1978. Before becoming Interior Secretary, Norton was senior counsel at Brownstein, Hyatt & Farber, P.C. She and her husband, John Hughes, are avid hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. They reside near Washington, D.C.

Richard "Chip" Sander

Chip is a partner with Sander Ingebretsen Miller & Parish, P.C., a boutique law firm specializing in representation of lenders, businesses and insurers. Chip graduated from the University of California Berkley and received his Law Degree from the University of Colorado Law School. He has been in private practice since 1982 and has represented several national lenders and financial institutions over the past 15 years.

In recent years, Chip has focused on representation of construction lenders in a wide spectrum of matters including contract documents and dispute resolution, with both general contractors and borrowers.

Peter Yost

Peter Yost is a principal in the consulting firm, 3-D Building Solutions, LLC, a firm focusing on building science and high performance building. He has more than 20 years experience in construction and research including technical analysis, public speaking and professional writing on topics as varied as construction waste management, life cycle analysis of building materials, and building durability.

Peter's experience includes remodeling/building contractor in southeastern New Hampshire, the Director of Environmental and Resource Analysis at the NAHB Research Center, Senior Editor of Environmental Building News, and Senior Researcher at Building Science Corporation. Peter is also currently the building science columnist for Green Builder magazine and is a frequent contributor to Home Energy magazine.
